叢林學院國際學部每學期邀請海內外教授全英文授課，

讓學生能拓展國際弘法視野，以及外語講經能力。

這次禮請法光佛教文化研究所所長高明道教授(Friedrich Grohmann)為專修部及英文佛學系學生教授《大智度論》英文專題，導讀<釋初品中見一切佛世界義>。教授首先講述《大智度論》的歷史脈絡，並介紹西方學界的重要論點。此次研讀法國學者拉莫特(Lamotte)譯本，作者對大智度論有深入研究剖析和豐富註腳，對於學術價值有極大的貢獻。

學生表示從教授的引導中學習到解經方法，應參考歷代論著，從文獻中擴大思考的廣度和深度

從大智度論的論述中練習邏輯和批判思維，從閱讀文獻中發現教導我們重新認識自己，梳理自己想要成為什麼樣的人，也成為我學習的目標。

Through this class I have trained my logical and analytical thinking, through the study of historical texts, it has made us understand ourselves. The power of these texts lies in its ability to teach us about who we are and have some idea of the type of person we are and hope to become.

閱讀有關佛陀的忍辱之道時，我了解到佛陀已經在生生世世中消除了驕傲，這就是為什麼他能在看待眾生時不輕視、不驕慢，即使成為眾生的偉大教師，佛陀依然展現謙卑。我應該向佛陀學習，對每個人都保持謙卑。

When reading about the Buddha's patience, I get to know that the Buddha has eliminated pride from life to life, this is why he does not scorn beings when he looks at them, he embraces them. I see the humbleness of the Buddha even though he had already become a great teacher for all sentient beings. I should learn from the Buddha, to be humble to everyone.
